It’s been almost a year since the pandemic first wreaked havoc on our nation. The release of the vaccine was a major part in moving forward towards some safety and protection for first responders. Now that the vaccines are here, the next issue is determining who will receive them first. Unfortunately, first responders were not at the top of the list and are falling behind in priority to other parts of society that are receiving the vaccine. Many are upset and frustrated, rightfully so.
Executive Director, Nile Porter, says “As a leader and active participant in both the emergency services and political realms, I understand that determining who will be given priority for the coronavirus vaccine is a complex task.” Despite this, he still believes that first responders deserve priority access to the vaccine.
