ARLINGTON, Virginia – Firefighters and EMS Fund announced that it has joined the Congressional Fire Services Institute’s (CFSI) Associates Club program. The organization had the opportunity to learn more about CFSI while attending Hill Day and the 2019 National Fire and Emergency Services Dinner in Washington D.C. in April.

Through education and engagement, CFSI promotes the values and needs of American fire service members to Congress. This is a service that Firefighters and EMS Fund believes is a critical piece to improving the overall care and support of the fire service community at the federal level.

The Executive Director of Firefighters and EMS Fund, Nile Porter, had this to say about joining CFSI, “We appreciate how CFSI works directly with fire service leaders and helps them encourage their members of Congress to become more active in supporting fire and emergency services through federal legislation and programs.”

The mission of Firefighters and EMS Fund is to provide a grassroots voice for firefighters across the country in the state and local political process. The mission begins by supporting ballot initiatives and working to elect political leaders at the state and local level that understand firefighters’ and public safety officers’ interests.
